South Courtenay Servicing
Start: January 2014
Last Updated: April 22, 2016
In December 2013, the Province of British Columbia approved the City of Courtenay’s application for a boundary extension in the South Courtenay area.
The City of Courtenay applied for this boundary extension in December 2012, after conducting extensive public consultation in the area. 109 properties in the boundary extension have transferred from the Comox Valley Regional District Electoral Area "A" to the City of Courtenay.
The City completed the water supply changeover in the fall of 2014 and is in the process of planning the sanitary sewer system for the South Courtenay area. Subject to 2016 budget approval, staff will be undertaking additional sewer system conceptual design to support a Local Service Area (LSA) bylaw process in the fall of 2016.
Following successful completion of the LSA, detailed engineering design and construction funding will be put forward to Council for 2017 budget deliberations.
