Parking Tickets

The City of Courtenay issues parking tickets to illegally parked vehicles, under the guidance of the City’s Traffic Regulation Bylaw [PDF - 97 KB]. Parking enforcement helps keep traffic moving smoothly and ensures fair access to parking for everyone in the City.

Parking ticket fees

Ticket fees vary depending on the type of parking violation, but range as follows:

  • First 10 days: From $10 to $50
  • After 14 days, but before a summons is raised:  $20 to $80
  • After summons raised: $60 to $120

How to pay a parking ticket

In person

Pay your ticket by cash, cheque or debit at Courtenay City Hall, 830 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Credit cards are not accepted. Please make cheques payable to “City of Courtenay”.
