The Heritage Committee is Seeking Photos

December 2, 2014

Photo: The old Corfield Motors building, now the present-day Courtenay City Hall.

In preparation for Courtenay’s Centennial in 2015 the Heritage Committee is looking for photos of key community events and places of historical significance. The time period we are seeking is images from 1965 till present day.

Some examples of subjects we are looking for include early Downtown Market Days (started in 1974), the opening of Puntledge Park, the BC Lions training camp held at Lewis Park, school openings or pictures of the schools in the early years, notable businesses, sporting events such as BC summer/winter games, former or new landmarks, arts festivals, scattered skits, farmers market, local recreation, community traditions, and photos from last few years that the train was running.

Submit your photos by December 21 in a couple of ways:
1. Bring to Courtenay City Hall (830 Cliffe Avenue). Please write your name and phone number on photos or envelope so we can return to you.
2. Email planning@courtenay.ca
