Global Road Safety Week

The United Nations’ third annual Global Road Safety Week is happening May 4 to 10, 2015. Did you know that, each year, 186,300 children die from road traffic crashes around the world? It’s also the leading cause of death for youth aged 15 to 17.

The city also partners with School District 71, local parents, and other community partners on the HASTe program (Hub for Active School Travel). This initiative works to ensure students have safe and active choices for their daily commutes.
