Local Wineries Help Build Centennial Legacy Endowment Fund

April 23, 2015

Four local wineries are taking part in a Courtenay Centennial initiative that will help to raise money for the Centennial Legacy Endowment Fund. The participating wineries are 40 Knots, Blue Moon, Beaufort and Coastal Black; each winery will be donating $0.25 per bottle of selected local wines sold between May 1 and September 30. Consider the ongoing benefit when making your choice to purchase local wine this summer!

“We are excited to be sharing in this initiative", says Brenda Hetman-Craig co-owner of 40 Knots Winery.  "The Comox Valley, known for quality food production is now gaining wide recognition for producing quality wines.  It is a pleasure to work with community-minded people from Beaufort, Coastal Black and Blue Moon to give back to Courtenay people through this Legacy Endowment Fund."

Money raised at other centennial events throughout the year, as well as through sales of a commemorative Centennial T-shirt are also being directed to the fund which will be distributed back to the community through the Comox Valley Community Foundation and support youth initiatives.
