The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m.

.01 Moved by McRae and seconded by Jangula that the minutes of the regular Council meeting held January 7, 2008 be adopted.

Ray Rogers, Courtenay & District Fish and Game
Ray Rogers invited Council to attend a water management seminar to be held on March 11, 2008 at the Courtenay Fish & Game Association facility at Comox Lake.
4.00 COMMITTEE/STAFF REPORTS
.01 dvp no. 0710 Silverado Land Corp 3090-20-0710
Moved by Phelps and seconded by McRae that the report from the Director of Operational Services regarding Silverado Land Corp withdrawing Development Variance Permit No. 0710 be received for information.

Moved by Theos and seconded by Phelps that Council consider the City of Courtenay Fees and Charges Amendment Bylaw No. 2520, 2008.

.03 2008 Grants Provision 1850-20
Moved by Jangula and seconded by McRae that Council approve inclusion of the following grants in the 2008 Financial Plan:
Comox Valley Citizens on Patrol-operations $17,500
BC SPCA-cat control $ 1,500
July 1st Committee-2008 event $14,000

Moved by Phelps and seconded by McRae that the Police Report for December 2007 be received for information.

.01 Incamera Meeting
Moved by Theos and seconded by Leonard that under the provisions of Section 90(1)(c) of the Community Charter, notice is hereby given that a Special In-Camera meeting closed to the public, will be held January 14, 2008 at the conclusion of the Regular Council meeting.

Moved by McRae and seconded by Phelps that “City of Courtenay Fees and Charges Amendment Bylaw No. 2520, 2008” pass first, second and third reading.
