Bill Payments
BILL PAYMENTS
General payments at City Hall
Payment of any bills or fees at City Hall can be made with Interac, as well as cash or cheque. Credit Cards are not accepted.
Banking System Payments - Taxes & Utilities
You may pay your property tax and utility account bills at any banking or financial institution - via teller, ATM, telebanking or Internet banking.
Internet Banking:
When using Internet banking to pay your property taxes, the folio number on the top right hand corner of the tax notice is your account number. Please note we are generally found as "Courtenay, City of", or "Courtenay - Taxes" with most financial institutions and you must drop the decimal when entering in your account number.
If you choose this method of payment and you qualify for the Home Owners Grant, please be aware that it must still be filled out and received at City Hall by July 2 every year. Any unclaimed Home Owner Grants considered unpaid property taxes after July 2, and are subject to the statutory 10% penalty applied to all unpaid property taxes.
Please note that Financial Institutions are no longer accepting Home Owner Grants on the Collector's behalf, therefore they must be returned directly to City Hall.
Should you encounter any difficulties at your financial institution when making a payment for property taxes or utilities, contact the City of Courtenay Finance Division, (250) 334-4441 or
e-mail finance@courtenay.ca
