About Courtenay Fire Department
The Courtenay Fire Department provides various fire-related services from one fire hall located at 650 Cumberland Road. A total of 42 Career and Paid-on-Call firefighters respond to both emergency and non emergency calls within the City of Courtenay and surrounding fire protection districts utilizing the following apparatus:

How 9-1-1 works
When you need assistance from the Courtenay Fire Department for either emergency or non-emergency situations, the 9-1-1 system provides immediate access to our services. Regardless of where you are calling from, when you dial 9-1-1, special 9-1-1 operators at the R.C.M.P. dispatch centre located on Ryan Road will answer your call. Once you have instructed them that you require fire department Services, your call will be transferred to the 9-1-1- fire department dispatch center in Campbell River.

• Annual Fire inspections on over 1500 businesses in the City and our fire protection areas.
