The Courtenay Fire Department provides various fire-related services from one fire hall located at 650 Cumberland Road. A total of 42 Career and Paid-on-Call firefighters respond to both emergency and non emergency calls within the City of Courtenay and surrounding fire protection districts utilizing the following apparatus:
- 3 Engines
- 1 75' Quint
- 1 Rescue Vehicle
- 1 Tanker Truck
- 2 Incident Command Vehicle
- 2 Inspector's vehicles

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.
Daytime staff consists of Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, and 3 Fire Inspectors.
