Commercial Toilet Rebate Extended

The deadline for commercial property owners to apply for toilet rebates when replacing old fixtures has been extended. The original December 31, 2010 deadline is no longer applicable; the rebate will be in place as long as existing funds are available.

The City of Courtenay’s commercial toilet rebate provides an incentive for commercial property owners to replace old, inefficient fixtures. For each toilet or urinal replaced under this program, applicants will receive $100. There is no restriction on the number of toilet rebates per applicant.  Businesses must have replaced their 13 litre toilets with a high efficiency 4.8 litre or dual flush toilet to be eligible for the rebate. They also have the option to switch old 5.7 litre or greater flush urinals with high efficiency 1.9 litre urinals.

The rebate is available to City of Courtenay commercial property owners connected to the Comox Valley Water System.

Commercial Toilet Rebate information and Application Form

Applicants will need to complete the Commercial Toilet Rebate application form and provide proof of purchase for the new fixture, as well as either a copy of their plumber’s receipt or an original City of Courtenay disposal receipt. These are obtained by dropping off old fixtures at the Public Works Yard at 1000 Piercy Avenue on Wednesdays between noon and 4:00 pm. Those wishing to drop off more than four toilets at a time will need to schedule in advance by calling 250-703-4865.

PLEASE NOTE: For information regarding residential toilet rebates please contact the Comox Valley Regional District at 250-334-6000.
