Important Tax Deadlines

A reminder of important tax deadlines for City of Courtenay home owners.
If you haven't already:
- Claimed a home owner grant for 2020 *
- Claimed a retroactive home owner grant for 2019
- Paid your 2020 property taxes
- Submitted an application to defer 2020 property taxes
Outstanding Property Tax Deadline
The deadline to pay your property taxes or apply to defer your property taxes is December 31, 2020 at 3 p.m. After that date, interest begins to accrue.
Please note, due to facility closures related to the COVID-19 outbreak, in-person payment at City Hall is not available at this time. Please use the "Payments" mail slot to the right of the main entrance doors, or contact Financial Services staff for assistance at 250-334-4441 or email finance@courtenay.ca
Home Owner Grant Deadline
You may claim your home owner grant online until midnight on December 31.
