Final Days to Submit Feedback on Courtenay’s Draft OCP

March 3, 2022

The deadline to provide feedback on Courtenay’s draft Official Community Plan is fast approaching.

The public, stakeholders, and anyone interested in shaping how Courtenay grows are encouraged to review the draft plan at courtenay.ca/OCPupdate and fill out a simple online survey until March 8, 2022:

The City of Courtenay thanks the hundreds of residents and friends of Courtenay who have provided feedback on the draft OCP so far, offering a wide range of specific recommendations for the plan. All feedback will be reviewed and considered, helping further refine the plan before it is presented to Council this summer.

The plan proposes hundreds of specific policies on a wide range of municipal and community systems such as affordable housing, buildings and construction, transportation, municipal infrastructure, parks and recreation, social infrastructure, arts, culture and heritage, food systems, the local economy and protection of the environment.

An ambitious vision for Courtenay’s future, the plan embeds principles of reconciliation, community well-being, equity, and climate action. The draft OCP is presented in three formats: the full version containing all detailed policy proposals, a summary for a quicker study, and recorded staff presentations for those who prefer to listen and watch.
