Statement on End of Mandatory Leave of Absence for Councillor Frisch
February 28, 2023
The City of Courtenay advises that Councillor David Frisch’s mandatory leave of absence from the duties of a City Councillor has ended pursuant to the requirements of sections 109.1 through 109.3 of the Community Charter. This section applies to a Council member who is charged with an offence under the Criminal Code.
As Councillor Frisch is no longer subject to charges under the Criminal Code, under the provisions of the Community Charter his Council duties are automatically restored.
Councillor Frisch has informed the City that he has recommenced medical leave and expects to return to full Council duties in April 2023.
The City of Courtenay will be making no further comment on this matter.
