City of Courtenay Bursary
Attention Students: You may be eligible for a bursary from the City of Courtenay.
The youth of the Comox Valley have unlimited potential and the City would like to recognize it. This bursary fund is intended to encourage community involvement and assist young people in their pursuit of a variety of further education, including lifestyle development training.
- $250 for students from Grades 9 to 12 at Aboriginal Education, Georges P. Vanier Secondary, Glacier View Secondary, Lake Trail Middle, Mark R. Isfeld Secondary & Navigate (NIDES).
- Students should demonstrate community involvement, volunteerism, successful academic standing, and positive work habits
- Open to City of Courtenay residents
- Students who demonstrate financial need will be given priority

How to claim a bursary
Bursaries are paid out by the City of Courtenay upon proof of registration to an accredited “post-secondary” institution (colleges, technical schools, universities, specialty school). Recipients have 15 months after completion of Grade 12 to claim the bursary. Successful recipients in Grade 9, 10 & 11 will have their bursaries held in trust by the City of Courtenay until they are eligible to claim.
