Parks & Recreation Master Plan

The City of Courtenay is updating the Parks and Recreation Master Plan – the first major update for the plan in over 20 years. This master plan will inform planning and decision-making for our community’s parks, trails,  recreation facilities and programs for years to come.

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan Online Survey is closed. The survey deadline was Saturday, September 30, 2017.

Congratulations to our two winners from the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Survey prize draw! Curtis Davies and Susan South have each won a $100 gift certificate for Courtenay Recreation. 901 people completed the survey! Thank you to everyone who took the time to tell us your priorities for parks and recreation in the city through the survey, as well as through focus group sessions and community workshops.

The results of the analysis and community feedback will be used to develop a draft plan for Council consideration later this winter. The draft will also be shared with the community for ongoing feedback, with the final plan scheduled for the spring of 2018.

Community Workshops

The general public was invited to share their input at two community workshops on September 13 and 14, 2017. Thank you to everyone that participated!
