Celebrate Youth Week!
BC Youth Week is May 1 – 7 and The LINC Youth Centre invites Comox Valley youth to come and enjoy celebratory events all week long! Youth Week is an annual international event celebrating the value, diversity and positive contributions youth make in their communities.
Tuesday, May 1: Youth 8 - 11 years are invited to a special Tween Dance. There will be a DJ, light show, and prizes. Tickets are $5; doors open at 3pm and the dance runs 4-7pm.
Wednesday, May 2: Youth 11 - 18 years will receive a complimentary ice-cream float and bring a friend for two-for-one drop-in.
Thursday, May 3: 3rd Annual Skate Jam with Onethirtythree. Youth 8 - 18 years can participate in best trick contests, score prizes and try their luck at the hot dog eating contest!
Friday, May 4: The LINC will be hosting its 9th annual Young Ones vs. Old Ones FREE Mini Hockey Tournament. Register your team now or be at The LINC at 5pm, with games starting at 5:30pm. The top youth teams battle each other in the finals, and the winning team will take on ‘The Old Ones’ for the Waka Cup. Lots of fun and free prizes!
Saturday, May 5: The LINC hosts the second annual Gnarly Little Spring Craft Fair featuring over 20 talented youth crafters and entrepreneurs. The craft fair runs 11am-3pm at the Lewis Centre and includes free entry with an opportunity to win great door prizes from Courtenay Recreation and Scrapbook Central.To finish the week off, all youth are invited to a FREE Youth Week wrap-up party & BBQ at The LINC; doors open at 3pm.
