Utility Box Painting Enlivens City Streets and Parks

Some plain metal utility boxes in Courtenay got a fresh new look this past spring and summer thanks to the work of local artists Barb Mareck and Teresa L'Hirondelle. The transformation of boxes was a collaboration between the City of Courtenay and the Comox Valley Community Arts Council.
Reflectors for Cyclists and Pedestrians

New Murals Brighten Courtenay Park Buildings

Two formerly plain, nondescript park buildings are now “must-see” local attractions and showpieces for the local cultural community. The buildings at Woodcote and Puntledge Park have been covered with new murals, painted in September by local artists with help from youth volunteers.
