On dad’s special day, join in a fun community event! Come out to the 30th Annual Father’s Day Kite Fly, Sunday, June 18th at Goose Spit Park from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. Dads, moms, grandparents, friends and kids of all ages will enjoy the colours and shapes of kites flying through the sky.  Registration starts at noon and is FREE and open to everyone.

Trophy’s and prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories, such as peoples’ choice, stunt kite, oldest pilot, largest kite, hard-luck flyer, homemade kite, and more.

A free hot dog roast at the fire pit is part of the fun. All food will be provided. Event prizes are donated by Whale’s Tale Toys. And this year, Mosaic Vision Care will be providing free sunglasses for kids and Cash Money will be  handing out sunscreen, water and other surprises.

Parking is limited this year at Goose Spit Park due to construction. Please use the free shuttle bus running every fifteen minutes from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm leaving Brooklyn Elementary School (the old Cape Lazo school on Guthrie Road).
