City of Courtenay Bursary

Attention Students: You may be eligible for a bursary from the City of Courtenay!

The youth of the Comox Valley have unlimited potential and the City would like to recognize it. This bursary fund is intended to encourage community involvement and assist young people in their pursuit of a variety of further education, including lifestyle development training.

Bursary details

  • Bursaries are for graduating students in grade 12 attending one of the following schools:  Glacier View Secondary, Georges P. Vanier Secondary, Mark R. Isfeld Secondary, Nala’atsi Alternate School, Navigate (NIDES), and Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Academy
  • Students should demonstrate community involvement, volunteerism, successful academic standing and positive work habits
  • Open to City of Courtenay residents only
  • Students who demonstrate financial need will be given priority

How to claim a bursary

Bursaries are paid out by the City of Courtenay to the recipients upon proof of registration of full time enrollment to an accredited “post-secondary” institution (colleges, technical schools, universities, specialty schools). Recipients have 15 months after completion of Grade 12 to claim the bursary. Contact for more info.
