PUBLIC INPUT OPPORTUNITY:
Temporary Use Permit - 1885 Cliffe Avenue (Super 8)
The proposed Temporary Use Permit is to provide Supportive Housing in the form of up to 67 housing units with individualized services for people in the Comox Valley through which their underlying health and social needs can be supported. This project will be operated by the
Comox Valley Transition Society and be funded by BC Housing.
The land is currently zoned Multiple-Use Two (MU-2) and is designated as Urban Corridor. The parcel is being operated as a motel.
The Official Community Plan supports Supportive Housing in the Urban Corridor designation. The Temporary Use Permit will be valid for up to 3 years, and an application can be made for up to a 3 year extension pending Council approval at that time.
Courtenay Council will consider the application during the July 12, 2023 Council meeting, with the public invited to participate in person, virtually, or by commenting in advance.
