Free Sandbags for Residents and Businesses

The City of Courtenay is once again offering free sandbags to residents and businesses at the following two locations:

1. Public Works Yard public parking lot at visitor entrance, 1000 Piercy Avenue (please do not enter the main yard)
2. Puntledge Road shoulder by the Red Cross building at 464 Puntledge Road

In addition, sand and unfilled bags are available at the Courtenay Fire Hall, 650 Cumberland Road.

Please do not remove sandbags from any other locations –  either on pallets set up at other sites in the Puntledge Business District, or that may already be set up at various sites.

To help reduce the potential for flooding, please periodically check and clear the grates over catch basins near your property to remove any leaves or debris. Thank you!
