The Lewis Centre is currently OPEN for Wellness Centre & squash drop-ins. Registered programs will resume at 12:00 pm today. The Lewis Centre was closed Thursday evening due to flooding in the parking lot and around the facility.
The LINC Youth Centre will remain CLOSED until Monday.
Updates will be posted on the City of Courtenay website, and on social media (Facebook & Twitter).

Update 5:30 pm:
The Lewis Centre is now CLOSED for the evening due to flooding in the parking lot and around the facility. The facility will remain closed until at least 12:00 noon on Friday, November 4. Facility staff will reassess on Friday morning for the balance of the day. Please check back on Friday morning for updates on the status of the facility and programs.
Update 3:00 pm:
All programs at the Lewis Centre will be cancelled for the remainder of the day Thursday November 3, and up until 12:00 noon tomorrow, Friday November 4. Please check back on Friday morning for updates on the status of programs scheduled in the afternoon after 12:00 noon.
Update 1:30 pm:
The following afternoon programs at the Lewis Centre have been cancelled this afternoon due to the parking lot closure:
- Beginner Kung-Fu 3:10-3:50pm
- Meditation with Yoga 2-3:30pm
- Taekwondo Tigers 4-4:45pm
- Clay Designs – 4-5:30pm
- Blues Harmonica 2:15-3:15pm
- Cooking Around The World – 3:30-5pm
Courtenay Recreation staff are contacting registered program participants, program instructors, and volunteers. The Lewis Centre remains open. Updates will be provided as they become available, or call the office at 250-338-5371. Please bring your own water due to the Boil Water Notice in effect. A limited amount of bottled water is available for purchase at the Lewis Centre office. Thank you.

Due to heavy rains, the parking lot at the Lewis Centre is partially flooded and closed to the public.
Please note that even though the parking lot is closed the Lewis Centre is still open for programs and drop-ins. If coming to the Lewis Centre please park on higher ground, but not at neighbouring businesses that are open.
