Old Island Highway Lane Closure on Thursday November 3

The Old Island Highway between Ryan Road and Headquarters Road will be reduced to single-lane northbound traffic only on Thursday, November 3, 2016 starting at 8:00 am. Southbound traffic will be detoured via posted side streets.

City of Courtenay crews will be deploying the Aqua Dam flood control barrier due to heavy rains and high river levels, as well as additional precipitation in the forecast. Once Aqua Dam installation is complete, this section of the Old Island Highway will return to regular two-way traffic.

The Aqua Dam on Comox Road is already in place.
