Temporary Courtenay Riverway Closures on June 6

June 6, 2017

Update, June 6, noon: A small section of the Riverway walkway by 20th Street will remain unpaved till further work is completed in the walkway area next week. This section will be a compacted road base surface instead of asphalt for a short time. The paving of this small section will be scheduled after work is completed on June 14.

Previously:
Two sections of the Courtenay Riverway will be repaved on Tuesday, June 6, resulting in detours around parts of this popular walkway during paving. The trail sections are beside the Courtenay Marina, and where the Riverway trail crosses 13th Street.

Please anticipate that the following areas will be inaccessible and will require a detour throughout the one-day paving period.

  1. Beside the Courtenay Marina
Paving taking place on the Riverway Trail just north of the Courtenay Marina. Detour by using Riverside Lane between 19th and 20th Streets.
  2. Riverway Trail at 13th Street
Paving taking place on Riverway Trail at 13th Street. Detour by using the shoulder of the road along Beckensell Avenue, adjacent to the trail.
