Thank you to Edwin and Fuzz

September 5, 2017

As the Simms Summer Concerts come to a close for the season we want to thank two very special people, Edwin Grieve and Brian (Fuzz) Morissette. Edwin and Fuzz have been organizing the concerts for many years but are now hanging up their hats and passing the duty on to the City of Courtenay’s Special Events Coordinator, Scott Mossing.

Edwin started the concerts in 2006 with the help of Courtenay Recreation. He wanted to provide a venue to hear local performers in the newly constructed pavilion in the park. Fuzz came on as an organizer in 2013. Edwin and Fuzz brought a great variety of local musicians to the park over the years.

The culmination of their efforts was this successful season of the Simms Summer Concerts. Concert attendance has been steadily building and this season we saw around 400-600 people per concert with the final concert of Completely Creedence having around 2,000 people in attendance.

Thank you Edwin and Fuzz for contributing so much to the local musical scene and for your efforts to make these concerts a success. Happy Trails!
