Waste Collection Schedule Over the Holidays

Is your garbage, yard waste and recycling picked up on Tuesdays or Wednesdays? If so, please make a note to put your items out at the curb a day earlier over the holiday season.

The City of Courtenay’s garbage contractor, Emterra, will not be operating on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day and is adjusting the schedule over the holiday season with pickup happening one day sooner for Tuesday and Wednesday collection days.

Tuesday regular pickup:

• Tuesday, December 24 has been rescheduled to Monday, December 23
• Tuesday, December 31 has been rescheduled to Monday, December 30

Wednesday regular pickup:

• Wednesday, December 25 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 24
• Wednesday, January 1 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 31
