5th Street Temporary Road Closure

UPDATED: BC Hydro has notified the City of an upcoming pole replacement on 5th Street between Harmston Avenue and Kilpatrick Avenue. Work is planned on Thursday, January 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. City crews will be installing a new water service connection to a new development under construction during this same time period.
Please note: this City work was originally scheduled for next Tuesday January 28, but has been moved ahead in order to coincide with this BC Hydro work and associated road closure.
During this work, this section of 5th Street will be CLOSED to through-traffic. Vehicles will be detoured via side streets. Traffic control personnel will be on site to assist local traffic.
In addition, the alleyway behind this same block – Harmston to Kilpatrick between 5th and 6th Streets – will be closed from Thursday to Tuesday for service upgrades for the same development.
