Application for Change to Liquor License: Ace Brewing Company

Ace Brewing Company Limited at 150 Mansfield Drive has applied to the Liquor & Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) for the following changes to their existing liquor licence:

  1. Permanent incorporation of the existing temporary patio area as a permanent patio endorsed Liquor Licence area. (see diagram below)
  2. Permanent increase in the total occupancy (indoor and outdoor) from 140 currently to 215 patrons. This represents an increase in 75 persons, all to be located in the new permanent patio.
  3. Change in hours of liquor sales.
    • Current hours of sale:
    • 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday
    • Proposed hours of sale:
    • 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week (Monday – Sunday)

As part of the application process, the City of Courtenay must gather the views of residents (as per section 38 (3)(c) of the Liquor Control and Licensing Act) before providing comments or recommendations to the LCRB. Council will consider the application at a future Council meeting.
In addition to this online notice, the City of Courtenay will be directly notifying properties within 30 metres of Ace Brewing about this application.
