Comox Valley Water Restrictions Reduced to Stage 2

September 27, 2023

Due to Puntledge River inflow levels set out by BC Hydro, the Comox Valley Water System will be reducing water restrictions to Stage 2 effective Wednesday, September 27. This system involves the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, and properties in the Comox Valley Water Local Service Area.

This change in water restrictions is based on the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) water licence and water use agreement in partnership with BC Hydro. Although we are reducing water restrictions, rainfall continues to be significantly lower than usual. Please continue to practice water conservation measures.

“Thank you for doing your part in respecting the Stage 3 water restrictions”, says Kris La Rose, Senior Manager of Water/Wastewater Services with the CVRD. “BC Hydro has indicated an inflow increase to 13 cubic metres per second, which allows us to bring the restrictions back to Stage 2. It is still important for Comox Valley residents to remain diligent and continue to be thoughtful with your water use”.
