City calls for action on delayed BC Housing project
BC Housing staff provided updates on two local developments: the supportive housing and shelter project at 925 Braidwood Road, and The Lodge at 1885 Cliffe Avenue.
The Braidwood project is now delayed until at least 2027. In response, Council voted to urgently request a meeting with the Minister of Housing to explore options to move the project forward sooner.

Grant application supported for family support fair
Council supported a grant application to help host a second Early Years Family Support Fair in spring 2026.
The free community event is organized in partnership with the Comox Valley Early Years Collaborative, with support from the City of Courtenay, School District 71 and other local agencies. If approved, the grant from BC Healthy Communities will help make the fair an annual event. The goal is to connect families with children under age eight with local programs and services — while creating a fun, welcoming space for learning, play and connection.
