Stage 2 Water Restrictions Take Effect July 1

Via the Comox Valley Regional District:

In the Comox Valley Water System, lawn and garden sprinkling is now permitted between the hours of 6:00 am – 7:30 am and 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm on Tuesday and Saturday for even numbered addresses, and Wednesday and Sunday for odd numbered addresses. In June 2025, the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board approved a 25% reduction to these watering times to help further reduce overall water consumption during the dry summer months.

This spring and summer, the CVRD and City of Courtenay Bylaw teams will be patrolling areas and issuing warnings and tickets to those not following these restrictions. Fines start at $100 and are subject to the applicable water conservation and ticketing bylaws. CVRD Bylaw is also responsible for water enforcement in the Town of Comox.

Watering times for the Black Creek-Oyster Bay and Union Bay Water Systems will remain the same from 6:00am – 8:00am and 8:00pm – 10:00pm on the designated days.
