Courtenay’s Canada Day celebrations on June 30 and July 1 bring our community together with free, family-friendly events in Downtown Courtenay and Lewis Park. The celebration features live music, activities, food vendors, community booths, a parade and more.

Parade entries

Join the Canada Day parade on July 1 and showcase your business, organization or community group. Floats, walking groups, decorated vehicles and other creative entries are all welcome — and there’s no cost to participate.

Vendor and information booths

Want to connect with thousands of event-goers? Apply for a vendor or information booth at the Night Before concert on June 30 and the Canada Day celebrations on July 1. This is a great opportunity to promote your products, services or community cause. Vendor fees apply, based on the type of booth:

  • Food booth – non-profit: $85
  • Food booth – commercial: $160
  • Craft/merchandise booth: $40
  • Information booth: $30

How to apply

The process is the same for both booth/vendor and parade applications:

  1. Download the appropriate application form.
  2. Fill out all fields and save the completed form.
  3. Print the form.
  4. Sign (if required) and bring the completed application to the Lewis Centre (489 Old Island Highway).
  5. Vendor applicants: bring payment when you submit your form.

Applications close Saturday, June 14, 2025, or while space is available. Apply early to secure your spot.

Children's bike draw donations

The much-loved children’s bike draw is returning for kids aged 5 to 12. The City is seeking sponsors to donate new bikes and helmets to support this long-standing tradition. If you’d like to contribute, please email Ryan Coltura, Assistant Manager of Recreation Facility Operations.
