Courtenay Outdoor Pool Now Open!

It is time to enjoy outdoor water fitness and outdoor fun! On Friday June 5, the Courtenay & District Memorial Outdoor Swimming Pool at Lewis Park opens for the summer season till the end of August.

In June the pool is open:

Early bird swim: 5:30 - 7:00 am, Monday to Friday
Lengths:  12:00  – 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday and 12:00  – 1:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday
Aquacise: 12:00 – 12:45pm, Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
Liquid Muscle drop-in class: 8:30 – 9:30 am, Saturday
Open swim: 3:00 – 4:30 Monday to Friday, and 1:30 – 4:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday

The pool is also available for rentals for school groups, birthday parties and special events. Call the Lewis Centre at  250-338-5371 to book.

The pool area includes a free water park which is open 9:00 am – 7:30 pm throughout the week, and a free wading pool area that will open at the beginning of July.

The pool is 30 metres long and is perfect for laps and water play. A special feature installed in 2011 is the solar heating system with 16 solar panels and a high efficiency thermal cover to keep the water warm. The thermal cover results in less chlorine being used, as there is less evaporation.
