Courtenay Recreation Launching More Outdoor Programs

July 13, 2020

Courtenay Recreation is moving into the next phase of its summer programming, as staff work on safely adapting programs and facilities for COVID-19.

A series of outdoor activities are starting the week of Monday July 20, including outdoor fitness classes, youth activities, and Adapted Programs.

Classes have been carefully planned with enhanced safety protocols, including smaller class sizes to allow for physical distancing.

Summer Fitness Classes

Starting July 20, outdoor fitness classes begin at Lewis Park. For the last few months, Courtenay Recreation instructors have been keeping patrons moving virtually with a series of online videos. Now you can safely work out with them in person from Monday to Saturday mornings, outdoors and with physical distancing in place between participants. Outdoor classes will be available through to the week of September 4 and include Bootcamp, Cardio Chaos, Butts and Gutts, Zumba©, Core and Sculpt and Flow Yoga.

Additional details on outdoor fitness classes will be available on Monday July 13, with registration starting Thursday July 16.  To attend a class, reserve your spot over the phone at 250-338-5371 or online at once registration starts.
