Courtenay Recreation Update: Easing of Restrictions

February 16, 2022

We are happy to announce that with the recent Provincial Health announcement regarding the easing of restrictions for events and social gatherings we are able to return to serving the public at full capacity. Starting Thursday, February 17th our operations will be adjusted in the following ways:

  • Return of drop-in at the Wellness Centre (pre-bookings and timeslots are no longer required). Visit the Wellness Centre page for the schedule.
  • Return of full access to Wellness Centre equipment
  • No physical distancing restrictions in the Wellness Centre or fitness classes
  • Return of birthday party programs
  • Return of rentals for indoor and outdoor organized gatherings

Important to note: Proof of vaccination is still required for all participants 12 years or older in most programs, except for sports programs for those under 22 years. Please note: You must produce a QR code for scanning and those 19 years and over will need to show government issued ID. Please see details on our Proof of Vaccination Requirements page.

Masks must be worn at all times in the facilities by both patrons 5 years and older and instructors except when exercising. Please note that while not mandatory, masks are recommended while exercising.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on the details involved in Public Health Order requirements.
