Business Licence Renewals

Renewal notices are mailed out mid-end January of each year to all businesses that possess a current City of Courtenay business licence. If a licence is not obtained by the renewal due date of February 29, a late payment fee calculated at 25%, for those licences paid on or after March 1, or 50%, for those licences paid on or after June 1, of the annual licence fee will be charged.

If any changes to the business licence are required, changes must be submitted in writing to the City of Courtenay (businesslicence@courtenay.ca) with a completed Business Licence Application Form - Fillable.pdf [PDF - 878 KB]. A $20.00 fee will be charged for all location changes, which is due at the time of application. It is the responsibility of the licence holder to ensure that all of their mailing and contact information is up to date.

NOTE: The City of Courtenay does not accept credit cards at City Hall however you can submit a credit card payment online (staff will provided detailed payment information to applicants, please do not submit a payment prior to recieving instructions from staff and the associated invoice for the required payment).
