Tax Exemption

Not-for-Profit Organizations within the City of Courtenay may qualify for a Permissive Property Tax Exemption. 

The amount of the exemption may vary. If approved, applicants could receive a full or partial tax exemption. 

Who Qualifies?

Council has adopted the Permissive Property Tax Exemption Policy [PDF - 36 KB] which outlines the criteria to qualify for consideration.  In addition, organizations must qualify based on the requirements set out in Section 224 of the Community Charter.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted by May 15^th
