Courtenay Recreation is looking for energetic individuals who enjoy working with children and youth to join our team as Children’s Program Instructors.  This is a great opportunity if you share our Core Values, have a desire to continue to learn and grow in the job, are committed to serving the public, and enjoy team work and collaboration. This is a non-union, casual position responsible for working with infants and children 0 - 12 years old, in structured and unstructured environments.

Applicants must have experience working with these ages, be willing to work mornings, afterschool/evenings or weekends, possess First Aid & Food Safe certifications and have a clean criminal record check. Experience and/or certificates in recreation, physical literacy, education, human/social services or equivalent will be preferred.

Early years (3-5 years)

  • active play and sport programs
  • arts/crafts
  • science
  • dance
  • cooking

Children (5-12 years)

  • sport programs
  • arts/crafts

  • dance
  • cooking
  • adapted programs, including inclusion support
