Masks are Mandatory

Masks are Mandatory

Updated October 13, 2021

All members of the public aged 5 and over are required to wear a mask in all public facilities including recreation centres, with the following exemptions:

  • People with health conditions or with physical, cognitive or mental impairments who cannot wear one
  • People who cannot remove a mask on their own
  • Children under the age of 5
  • People who need to remove their masks to communicate due to another person's hearing impairment

Masks may only be removed while engaged in physical activity in a program or in the Wellness Centre.

A face shield is not a substitute for a mask as it has an opening below the mouth. Patrons will no longer be required to answer COVID-19 health screening questions upon entering our facilities but are asked to do a self-assessment prior to visiting and continue to stay home if sick.

Thank you for your patience as we implement these new procedures.
