New Spring and Summer Combined Recreation Guide!

Big news from your Comox Valley recreation centres! Spring and summer programs will now be featured in one convenient Comox Valley Recreation Guide. The combined guide gives participants early access to summer program schedules to plan ahead. Moving forward, there will be three guides instead of four every year: spring/summer, fall, and winter.

The spring/summer guide will be released online on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Printed guides will be available starting Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at recreation centres and various pick up locations around the Comox Valley. For more information on pick up locations see the Recreation Guide Pick Up Locations page.

Spring/Summer Recreation Guide FAQs:

  1. What is changing with the Comox Valley Recreation Guide?

The Spring and Summer Comox Valley Recreation Guide will be combined into one guide. There will now be three guides each year instead of four:

    • Spring/Summer Guide – published March 5 online and will be available in print March 6 at recreation centres and pick up locations (programs from March until August)
    • Fall Guide – published in August (programs from September to November)
    • Winter Guide – published in November (programs from December to March)
  2. Why is the Comox Valley Recreation Guide publication schedule changing?

Combining the spring and summer guides will get summer program information to residents earlier, so you can plan ahead for summer activities at Comox Valley recreation centres.

  3. When can I register for spring and summer programs?

There will be two separate registration days:

    • Spring/summer program registration starts March 11 for most regular programs with a couple of exceptions noted below in the bullets below.

    • Registration for CVRD’s swim lessons at the indoor pools is March 11 also but for their regular programs, including summer camps, registration is ongoing.

    • Summer camp and outdoor pool registration starts April 15.
  4. Why is summer camp/outdoor pool registration delayed until April?

Staggering the registration days will ensure residents have additional time to plan and budget for summer camps and outdoor pool programs.
