South Courtenay Servicing
Start: January 2014
Last Updated: February 2, 2018
In December 2013, the Province of British Columbia approved the City of Courtenay’s application for a boundary extension in the South Courtenay area.
The City of Courtenay applied for this boundary extension in December 2012, after conducting extensive public consultation in the area. 109 properties in the boundary extension have transferred from the Comox Valley Regional District Electoral Area "A" to the City of Courtenay.
The City completed the water supply changeover in the fall of 2014 and is in the process of planning the sanitary sewer system for the South Courtenay area. Staff will be undertaking additional sewer system conceptual design.
Design is proposed for 2019 and construction in 2020. These dates are conditional based on Council's approval of the project.
