Join the City of Courtenay for our Public Works Week Open House and celebrate the people and services that keep our community running every day. As part of National Public Works Week, this free, family-friendly event invites residents of all ages to explore behind the scenes of public works on May 23 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Visitors can enjoy equipment demonstrations, facility tours, hands-on activities and community displays, while meeting the dedicated staff who maintain our roads, utilities, parks and infrastructure. It’s a fun and educational way to learn how public works is rooted in service and powered by community.
Everyone is welcome, so bring the whole family to the Operations Centre at 1000 Piercy Avenue in Courtenay and help us celebrate Public Works Week 2026!
Print this colouring sheet for your family [PDF/804KB] before the open house! Once the kids have finished their masterpiece, drop it off at the Operations Centre during the Open House on May 23 before 2 p.m. to be entered into a prize draw.
