Simms Summer Concerts continue Sunday, July 26, with Shotgun Kelly bringing an evening of rock and pop favourites to Simms Millennium Park.
A long-standing favourite on the Comox Valley music scene, Shotgun Kelly has performed throughout the region for more than 13 years. The band is known for heartfelt, high-energy performances and a crowd-pleasing set list spanning artists from Adele to AC/DC.
Vocalist Kelly Everill leads the four-piece band, joined by Todd Mitchell on drums, Chris Thagard on lead guitar and vocals and Chris Hardmann on bass. Together, they move easily from soulful ballads to classic rock anthems, bringing energy and musicianship to every show.
The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at Simms Millennium Park, located by the 5th Street Bridge and across from Lewis Park. The concert runs until approximately 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of live music by the Courtenay River.
The Weenie Wagon will be on site starting at 6 p.m. for this concert.
Simms Summer Concerts takes a one-week break on August 2. The series returns with Blues Jam on August 9, followed by Stealing Dan on August 16 and Time Well Wasted on August 23.
