Bylaw No. 3212, 2026
At the regular Council meeting on June 24, 2026, Council amended the proposed Business License Bylaw No. 3212.
The proposed bylaw will replace the City’s Business License Bylaw No. 2523 and the Intermunicipal Business License Agreement Bylaw No. 2464.
The key changes focus on licence fees for:
- financial institutions
- nightclubs/pubs
- large-format retail stores (over 1000m2)
Council will consider adoption of the amended Business Licence Bylaw
No. 3212, 2026 at the July 29, 2026, regular Council meeting. In accordance
with section 59(2) of the Community Charter, the City must give notice of its
intentions and provide an opportunity for persons who consider they are
affected by the bylaw to make representation to Council prior to adoption.
There are no in-person or online speaking opportunities for the proposed bylaw.
