Legislative and Corporate Services

Legislative and corporate services manages a range of functions that support City operations, Council and the community.

The department oversees the business of City Council and its committees, administers local government elections, and manages bylaw enforcement. It is responsible for purchasing goods and services, managing land sales, acquisitions and agreements, and overseeing operations at the civic cemetery.

Legislative and corporate services also manages legal matters and the City’s corporate records, including access to records under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA). The department leads centralized communications, oversees human resources and information technology, and acts as the City’s liaison with the Comox Valley RCMP for community policing services.
