Courtenay Outdoor Pool

Drop-in programs

Enjoy free admission for drop-in programs including open swims, family swims, adapted swims, lane swims and aquafit.

Standard fees apply for swimming lessons, specialized programs and private rentals.

Swimming lessons

Registration for summer 2026 swimming lessons is open. You can register online, by phone or in person at the Lewis Centre or Florence Filberg Centre.

Register for children's swimming lessons

Note: If your child has taken swimming lessons before, bring their latest report card to the first lesson.

Private pool rentals

The pool is available for private rentals during these times:

  • Saturdays and Sundays, June 1 – August 28, 5–8 p.m.
  • Monday to Friday, August 10–28, 5–7 p.m.

Rotary Water Park

For those looking for an alternative to the wading pool, the Rotary Water Park at Lewis Park is a free and accessible option to splash around and beat the summer heat. The Rotary Water Park is located next to the Lewis Centre parking lot, outside the main pool area.

  • Open daily, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., starting May 17
  • Free admission
  • Hours are subject to change

Pooch-A-Poolooza

Join us for our annual dog swim on Saturday, August 29, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Admission is $5. Dogs must be friendly and have proof of vaccinations.

About the Outdoor Pool

The 30-metre pool is located beside the Lewis Centre at 489 Old Island Highway. It offers a variety of programs and activities for all ages, including public swims, adapted swims, lane swims, lessons, water toys and private rentals.

Wading pool

The Wading Pool next to the Courtenay Outdoor Pool remains closed until further notice while the City assesses repair options. It's not expected to open this summer.

Outdoor Pool planning and engagement

The Courtenay and District Memorial Outdoor Pool is nearing the end of its service life. The City has been exploring options for repairs, renovation, or replacement.

In fall 2025, the City completed an options study and community engagement, with results presented to Council.
