Safe streets, fair parking and better traffic flow

Follow these rules to help keep streets safe, accessible and moving efficiently.


What you need to know

  • Do not leave motor vehicles, trailers or boats parked on City streets for more than 24 consecutive hours.
  • Do not park commercial vehicles, boats, trailers, campers or motor homes on City highways between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Always follow posted signs and time limits, such as two-hour parking zones.
  • Do not park on sidewalks or boulevards, in fire lanes, within five metres of a fire hydrant or crosswalk, or in front of driveways.
  • Accessible parking spaces are for vehicles with a valid accessible parking permit only.
  • No overnight parking in City parks.
