Safe, accessible parks for everyone

Follow these simple rules to help keep parks safe, clean and enjoyable for all.


What you need to know

  • No overnight parking in City parks.
  • Motorcycles, dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles and other motorized vehicles are not allowed on trails. Wheelchairs and mobility devices are welcome.
  • No smoking, vaping or consuming alcohol, cannabis or illicit drugs.
  • Do not cut, prune, remove or damage any tree, plant or park property.
  • No fires, burning materials or firearms.
  • Use park garbage and recycling bins only. Do not leave household or yard waste in parks.
  • Dogs must be on a leash in all City parks. Clean up after your pet.
  • Temporary sheltering is allowed in designated City parks between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m., except in environmentally sensitive areas. For more information, see Part 7 – Temporary Sheltering in the Parks and Open Spaces Regulation Bylaw (see link below).
