Woodcote Park playground

The new playground at Woodcote Park (1281 17th Street, Courtenay) is now open.

The project includes a full playground replacement, along with upgrades to the field irrigation and drainage systems. The new playground is designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind. Features include ground-level play elements, nature-based sensory experiences, a universal carousel, inclusive swings and expanded rubber surfacing.

Woodcote Park is one of the first community park playgrounds built to reflect the City’s Let’s Play, Courtenay! Park Playground Design Standards. The project was developed with community engagement and is primarily funded through the Province of B.C.’s Growing Communities Fund.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for June 2026 — details to come.
