The Approved Products List (APL) shows which products are allowed for City-owned civil engineering projects. All listed products meet the standards outlined in:
- The City's Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw,
- The Master Municipal Construction Documents Association (MMCDA) MMCD Platinum
- The MMCD Design Guidelines.
These standards ensure consistent, high-quality infrastructure that is safe, reliable, and easy to maintain.

Requesting a Product Review
Do you have a product you’d like the City to consider for inclusion in the Approved Products List? To request a review:
- Complete the Product Review Request Form [PDF/163KB]
- Submit all required supporting documentation
Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
Who Can Submit a Request?
Anyone may submit a product for consideration, including:
- Manufacturers
- Sales representatives
- Consultants
- Contractors
- City staff
Review types
Submitted products are reviewed by the City’s Material Review Committee. There are two types of reviews:
- Product Review
Evaluation of a product for full approval and inclusion in the Approved Products List. - Product Awareness Review
Informational review for specialty products considered only in unique or limited-use cases.
About the Material Review Committee
The Material Review Committee is responsible for:
- Reviewing all submitted product requests
- Re-evaluating previously approved products as needed
The committee includes representatives from:
- Engineering
- Operations
- Development Services
- Purchasing
- Recreation
Other departments may be consulted if the product relates to their area of responsibility.
